A Penny for Your Thoughts
April's Medal produced some excellent scoring in torrential rain. Junior, Josh Pennycott shot a nett 56, just two ahead of his nearest rivals. Justin Watson a newish member to Horsham Golf and Fitness, beat stalwart Ian Davenport to second place, both on nett 58. Four 2's were recorded from Josh Budd, Ian Davenport, Ron Waddell and Aaron Tingley.

Perfect Peter
The Club Stableford played on the 25th March, proved very popular with 41 entrants, all enjoying our balmy spring weather. Peter Patterson proved too strong for the trailing pack, coming in with an excellent 46 points, proving that practise means 'perfect'. Nearest rival Ronald Smith was two points behind on 44 points and in third spot on countback was Tony Rigby, from Ian Davenport.
Ten 2's were recorded, unusually from ten different members.
The Stableford was the last round of the Winter Eclectic and with Patterson's good round, it moved him up to second spot in the nett competition on a score of 46. Aaron Tingley claimed first prize with an impressive eclectic round of 44 and in third place was Mark Benney on 47. The gross competition was won by Mark Benney on countback with 49 from Aaron Tingley and in third place was Kieran Benney with 53.
Gavin Edges out the Opposition!
With excellent course conditions for March's Club Stableford at Horsham Golf and Fitness, ten 2's were recorded. Three from Kieran Benney and two apiece from Mark Benney and Josh Budd. 37 cards were processed, and with the majority of the field playing to handicap or better, it was a photo finish. In fourth place was Jeremy Simpson on 45 points, only one point behind the top three. Steve Mears was third, Charlie Marlsbury, who plays most of his golf at our sister golf club, Foxbridge, came in second and in first place was Gavin Hedges on 46 points, beating the other two on countback.
Finn-tastic
45 cards were processed at the end of January's Club Stableford. Twelve 2's were recorded, with Aaron Tingley and Alec Cresswell bagging two apiece. With some excellent scores coming in, five golfers fought for the runners-up spot. In sixth place was Terry Robinson, Richard Budd fifth, Heather Culshaw was fourth and in third place was John Hasson. David McConnell, a new name to the podium places, taking second spot, with all these players on 47 points. Just keeping the challengers at bay, and keeping his nerve, was young Finn Aldrich on 48 points. Finn won a tour event for the 10-11 age groups last year at Horsham which was run by the Mike Yorke Golf Academy based at Horsham and Horne Park Golf Clubs and was third in the Club's previous Stableford - I am sure we will hear a lot more from this young man.
